Automatic Power Factor Controller Type 1188 |
|
These automatic power factor controller type 1188 provide cost effective solution to the control of Power Factor in smaller installations. These automatic power factor controller type 1188 are available for a variety of applications, the Controllers can be programmed to suit the User needs. The Controllers are housed in 96 X 96 DIN flush mounting enclosure with behind the panel depth of only 70mm. 1188 / 2 step is useful to compensate the Power Factor of major on /off loads such as compressors. It is also useful for correcting the Power Factor on the secondary of a Utility Supply Transformer (usually pole mounted), by means of two unequal capacitors used for the two stages, to take care of load variations.1188 – 4, 6 and 8 step is used as a regular Automatic Power Factor Controller. It is available for Three Phase as well as for Single Phase applications. as for Single Phase applications. The single-phase version is required for extremely unbalanced loads, where three single-phase systems are used in star connection.1188 / 4 step is available in a variety of sequences First In First Out, Binary normal timing and Binary Fast Discharge timing modes. Please ask us for details. Normally supplied is First In First Out sequence. Both models are available for thyristor switched capacitor systems. The display is 7 – segment 12/7mm bright LED display 3 digit for 1188/4step and 4 digit for the 1188 / 8 step. LED’s provide appropriate indications of lag, lead, on, off and the stages on. The display provides indication of alarm condition. The display reads 1.uuu (1.uu for 4 step) when current is very low. The displayreads 2.uuu (2.uu for 4 step) when your external connections are wrong. There are no settings to make. The Controller limits are factory programmed. The Controller is designed to provide the best possible Power Factor under the system constraints.

Automatic Power Factor Controller Type 1143 |
The Syntron automatic power factor control relay type 1143 is specially designed to provide accurate and reliable control of power factor of an electrical installation 1143 has micro controller technology. This is a Syntron exclusive trademarked as COSROBOTTM. COSROBOTTM technology evolved at Syntron specifically for use in APFCRs where the problems of electrical noise, transients etc. are accentuated, and normal microprocessor technology fails under such conditions. COSROBOTTM 1143 is now more reliable and easier to troubleshoot. Operationally the COSROBOTTM APFCR 1143 is identical to the previous IC based version for compatibility with older panels. Some features, not available with IC based APFCRs, are provided additionally in 1143: 1 Some users, with peculiarly configured systems used to find it difficult to use Syntron automatic power factor control relay type 1143 with the Low Current Cutout set at 20%. Low Current Cutout is now reduced to 5% to accommodate such systems. 2 Some users demand timing between stages different from our standard. This modification is needed for thyristor controlled capacitors, windmills etc. This timing can now be factory set at a value from 0.2 seconds to 25 seconds. 3 The First In First Out sequence now comes with built in software timers - one for each stage - so that the APFCR waits only if the next needed capacitor is still discharging, otherwise it is switched on immediately. 4 Any other sequence such as 1+2+2+….., 1+2+4+8+…etc. are also given, factory programmed as per order. 5 There are two alarm conditions that are directly displayed Current Low (the display reads 1uuu) and Wrong Wiring (the display reads 2uuu). This condition is detected if your wiring of the APFCR is wrong, and will persist till you correctly wire the APFCR into the system.
Specifications: Voltage: 400 415 440 V(specify one) three phase three wire 50Hz nominal. 110V three phase versions available on request. Current: Through CT on the Main Incomer. 1 Amp or 5 Amp secondary. Low Current Cutout:Factory set at 5% (0.25 Amps for 5 Amps and 50mA for 1 Amp.) Display reads 1.uuu when the current is too low. Wrong Connections:Three voltage wires and two wires from the CT on the main incomer connect the APFCR in the electrical system. The wiring must made Correctly. The APFCR switches off all stages and displays 2.uuu to warn the operator. This condition persist till correct connections are are made. Meter: 4 digit Digital Meter : Range : 0.000 lag 1.000 0.000 lead. PF Setting Range: 0.75 Lag to 0.99 Lead. Dead Band Control: 4 deg. to 14 deg. electrical. Automatic Power Factor Controller Type 1107 |
Power Factor is an important parameter needing control. The Syntron automatic power factor control relay type 1107 is specifically designed to control the power factor of an installation accurately and reliably. Introduced first in 1982, the automatic power factor control relay type 1107 has undergone countless refinements and improvement to make it the most sought after APFCR in India. The leaflet reflects all the changes, refinements and additions made in the line. The major additions are: The original 1107 had an analog power factor meter, some users demand a digital power factor meter thinking that it would be more accurate. Actually the PF meters normally provided are 2 ½ digit type, the resolution of which is worse. Accuracy may be the same. We therefore designed in a four digit power factor meter the accuracy of which is the same as analog and resolution is ten times better than the two and a half digit versions. The meter provided on the 1107 is also far more stable to provide meaningful readings.
Function: The APFCR controls the power factor of the installation by giving signals to switch on or off power factor correction capacitors. It should be noted that this is only a Relay constituting the so to say 'brain' of the system and it cannot switch the capacitors directly but need intermediate contractors of appropriate ratings. The APFCR has a built in power factor transducer which measures the power factor of the installation and converts it to a DC voltage of appropriate polarity. This is compared with a reference voltage which can be set by means of a knob calibrated in term of power factor. When the power factor falls below setting, the APFCR switches on the capacitors one by one in sequence, which can be either First In First Out (FIFO) or First in Last Out (FILO). In either case the capacitors of all stages must all be of same rating. The Relay switches them on in linear sequence Facilities: Power Factor Meter : Four Digit Digital Meter. Please refer description above. PF Setting Dial: The required PF is to be set on this dial calibrated from 0.75 lag to .99 lead Dead Band Knob: This setting determines the range of phase angle over which the Relay will not respond. Dead Band is necessary to prevent overcorrection and hunting. Undercurrent Blocking: When the load is low the effect of the capacitors is more pronounced and may lead to hunting. Undercurrent Blocking shuts down the Relay when the load is too low, and switches off all the capacitors one by one in sequence. Auto/Manual Facility : The system may be operated manually from the Relay by this control. Special Timing Sequence: The APFCR has a built in logic timer which inhibits operation for a fixed delay of 65 seconds for LT Relays (and 310 seconds for HT application Relays) whenever the following changeover occur: • Changeover from Auto to Manual and vice versa. • Changeover from capacitor off to capacitor on signal. This delay ensures that the capacitors are fully discharged before they are re switched in. This avoids transient and damage to capacitors. Indication : The APFCR has solid state indication lamps (LEDs) for every one of the function the operator should know about : Auto, Manual, Low PF, High PF, Timer, Amps OK, Test (to indicate that the Relay is in TEST Mode.) and for each capacitor switching stage. |
